Clothespin Fliers are dolled up clothespins that slide
down a string. This kept them busy for so long, and it
was something we did again and again.

Use markers to decorate your clothespin as a person.
Twist a piece of pipe cleaner around pin to form arms.
Tie a piece of floral wire around clothespin (above the
slit). Fold a penny into each end of the wire. The
pennies act as a weight to keep the flier upright.
Tie a string at a steep angle for the fliers to ride down.
We had an open front entry that was perfect for this.
One end of the string was tied to the wooden banister
upstairs. The other end was pulled taught & tied to
the front door doorknob. THE STRING MUST BE
TAUGHT or the fliers won't fly. Put your flier on the
string & let go. It will zoom down the string to the
bottom. The kids enjoyed this so often that they
devised an elevator for the fliers (a cup that was
attached by a long piece of string to the banister.)
