I've heard these called different names over
the years. They don't require an oven, but
they do require a stove top. I find it hard to
eat just one. They freeze well.
Mix in a saucepan:
1 c sugar
2 Tbsp unsweetened chocolate
1/4 tsp salt
Add:
2 Tbsp margarine
1/4 c milk
Cook over high heat & stir constantly.
Bring to a boil. Cook 1 1/2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add:
1 c oats
1/4 c peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
Stir well.
Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper.
Let harden.
Store in a sealed container/ bag.
