From the kitchen of Ann Marie Barkwell. This is from
The Flat Belly Diet. It's a nice way to drink water
because it's refreshing & has some flavor, but it's
good for your GI tract too.
Add to a pitcher:
2 quarts water
3" piece of seedless cucumber, sliced thin
1 lemon, scrubbed & sliced thin
12 mints leaves
1 tsp freshly grated ginger root*
Enjoy.

*This is the only ingredient that may be
overpowering. You may want to start with less, try it,
& add to taste.
"The greatest wealth is health."
GINGER has been used to calm:
morning sickness, motion sickness, nausea,
heartburn, migraines, menstrual cramps & other
digestive problems.  It also reduces pain caused by
inflammation.

MINT has been used as a remedy for digestive
problems & stomach cramps for centuries, as well as
a natural breath freshener.

LEMONS are a great source of Vitamin C, potassium
& calcium.  When added to water, lemons are a
natural diuretic.  They  have been used to calm
nausea, heartburn,  constipation & sore throats.

CUCUMBERS are a great source of vitamin A, B1, B6,
C & D, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium & Potassium.
Sassy Water
A pitcher of Sassy Water.   Instead of making a pitcher's worth,  I
usually make a large glass of this in the morning & add water
throughout the day.  When the flavor dulls, I start fresh.    -Stephanie
