BROOKS, Tryphena [SRGP 85719] - Mrs. Tryphena Barkwell, aged 92 years, died April 17 [1939] at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John H. Beard, in Corning. She was born in Kenton, England, May 11, 1846, daughter of Thomas and Diane Brooks. She
came to this country with her husband and family in 1882. Mr. Barkwell died the following year. Before going to Corning she made
her home in Mansfield. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Beard; three sons, John of Mansfield; George and Stephen, of Binghamton;
ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at Mansfield Thursday at the Shaw Funeral Home, Rev. C.N.
