Snickerdoodles
From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser.  I found this recipe
at
allrecipes.com.   At the time, it had over 1000 ratings of 5
out of 5.  I love them.  The outside is slightly crispy & the
inside chewy.  I use a medium  icecream scoop to shape
dough.  These freeze well baked.
Cream:
1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Blend in:
2 3/4 c flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Shape dough into balls.

Mix:
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Roll dough balls in cinnamon mixture.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake @ 400, 8-10 minutes, or until set.

Cool 4 minutes to let set before transferring
to cooling racks.
