From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser. I adapted
this recipe from One More Moore. There are three
things that set this apart from other Amish Bread
recipes. It uses 1) butter rather than oil 2) less sugar
3) more yeast. Using a bread machine, it's a breeze
In a bread machine:
1 1/2 c hot water
4 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp salt
5 c flour
2 Tbsp yeast
Put of dough setting.
On a greased cookie sheet, floured stone, or silicone
Shape dough into 2 loaves.
Cut decorative slits on top.
Let dough rise until doubled.
Brush loaves with an egg white wash
(1 egg white + 1 Tbsp water)
Bake @ 400 for 17-25 minutes.
