From the kitchen of Kay Putano. This recipe was given
to me by Olympia Salbego. Serve with a scoop of vanilla
Place in a greased 9x13 baking dish:
8 c tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
In a bowl, using a pastry blender, mix:
1 1/2 c brown sugar, packed
1 c flour
1 c rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 to 1 tsp nutmeg
2/3 c cold butter or margarine, cut into slices
Crumble evenly over the apples.
Bake @ 375 for 30 - 35 minutes or
until apples are tender.
Makes 10 servings.
