From the kitchen of Mabel Knewasser. What is
apple scallop? A baked concoction of sliced
apples, gingersnap crumbs, brown sugar &
cinnamon. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped
cream. A great autumn treat.
Peel, core & slice:
3 large apples
The lemon juice keeps the apples from browning.
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c butter, melted
1 1/2 c gingersnap crumbs
Fill a baking dish with alternating layers of apples &
Cover & bake @ 350, for 1 1/2 hours.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
