From the kitchen of Kay Putano. Mandarin oranges,
pears, rum and eggnog flavor this jell-o, recipe from
Jell-O.
Stir together until dissolved:
3 oz package lemon jell-o
1 c boiling water
Add:
1/4 c cold water
1/4 tsp rum

Measure 3/4 c of jell-o
Add:
3/4 c eggnog
Pour into a 6 c mold.
Chill until set, but not firm, about 25 minutes.

Drain, reserving syrup:
11 oz can mandarin oranges
8 oz can pear halves
Add water to syrup to total 3/4 c.
Dice the pears, set aside.

Stir together until dissolved:
3 oz package cherry or raspberry jell-o
1 c boiling water
Add:
reserved fruit syrup
reserved lemon jell-o
Chill until thickened, but not set.

Add:
chopped pears
Spoon into mold over eggnog mixture.
Arrange
oranges to gelatin near edge of mold,
pressing down lightly.
Chill until firm, about 4 hours.

Makes 5 1/2 c or 10 servings.
