From the kitchen of Kay Putano. This fried chicken
recipe is from Crisco. For extra spicy chicken add
an extra 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning and 1 tsp black
pepper to the mix.
Cut up 1 frying chicken (2 1/2 to 3 lbs) or use
chicken pieces

In a bowl mix:
1/2 c milk
1 egg

In a plastic or paper bag, combine:
1 c flour
2 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp MSG
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp black pepper

Shake chicken if flour.
Dunk in milk.
Shake chicken in flour for a second time.

In a deep skillet, melt:
Crisco - enough to be 1/2 to 1 inch deep
Heat to 365.
Brown chicken on all sides.
Reduce heat to 275.
Continue cooking until chicken is tender,
30 - 40 minutes.
Do NOT cover.
Turn chicken several times during cooking.
Drain on paper towels.
