From the kitchen of Kay Putano. Molasses, ginger
and raisins are steamed into a pudding and topped
with a vanilla or lemon sauce.
Combine:
1 egg
1 c molasses
1/2 c shortening
1/2 c hot water
1 Tbsp ginger
1/2 c chopped raisins
1 tsp baking soda
Add:
flour
Add enough flour to make a cake like consistency.

Steam 1 1/2 hours.

Sauce:
Combine:
2 c sugar
2 Tbsp flour
Add:
2 c boiling water
1/2 c butter
1 tsp vanilla OR lemon extract
Cook over low heat stirring constantly until slightly
thickened.
