From the kitchen of Diomira Putano. As a teenager, Diomira
came to America from Italy. The smell of this cooking on the
stove is heavenly. See her pizza dough recipe.
6 Tbsp oil
1/2 tsp basil
3/4 tsp oregano
4 big pieces of garlic
big piece of green pepper
Put in a pot.
Let get a little hot, then add:
1 lb passed (strained) tomato (about 2 c)
1/4 c water (use to rinse tomato can)
Simmer for 45 minutes to an hour.
It should thicken a little.
I use crushed tomatoes. It makes enough for 2 pizzas. It
