From a 1971 church cookbook.  
1/4 c oil
1 clove garlic
Brown the garlic in the oil, then add:
1/4 c water
1/2 tsp parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can minced clams & juice
Simmer 15 minutes, pour over linguine or
spaghetti.
"Eat pasta, run fasta."
