Cinnamon Raisin Bread

From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser

Microwave until warm:

1 c milk

2 Tbsp water

In bread machine:

warmed milk & water

1/4 c butter

1 egg

4 c flour

1/4 c + 2 Tbsp sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cardamom

2 1/4 tsp yeast

Set on dough cycle.

Punch dough down.

Turn on a floured surface.

Roll into a rectangle.

Smear with:

2 Tbsp butter, softened

Combine filling:

heaping 1/4 c brown sugar, packed

1 tsp cinnamon

Sprinkle over dough.

Add raisins if desired.

Roll. Crisco & flour bread pan(s).

Raise until doubled.

Bake @ 350, 20 minutes

Freezes well. Excellent toasted with butter.
