{"id":1988,"date":"2023-05-21T21:15:25","date_gmt":"2023-05-21T21:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/?p=1988"},"modified":"2026-06-03T00:31:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T00:31:34","slug":"chocolate-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/chocolate-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate Cake- Renee&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the kitchen of Renee Wilson<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 350.<\/p>\n<p>Grease &amp; flour 2 9&#8243; round baking pans.<\/p>\n<p>Combine:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 c sugar<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 3\/4 c flour<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>3\/4 c cocoa<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 1\/2 tsp b. powder<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 1\/2 tsp b. soda<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 tsp salt<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Add:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 eggs<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 c milk<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1\/2 c oil<br \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 tsp vanilla<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Beat on med speed for 2 min.<\/p>\n<p>Add:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 c water, boiling<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Batter will be THIN.<\/p>\n<p>Pour into pans.<\/p>\n<p>Bake @ 350 for 30-35 min.<\/p>\n<p>Toothpick poked in center should come out clean.<\/p>\n<p>Cool 10 min, remove from pans to racks.<\/p>\n<p>Cool completely.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For Cupcakes<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p>Fill cups half way.<\/p>\n<p>Bake @ 350, 22-25 min<\/p>\n<p>Makes 30 cupcakes.<\/p>\n<p>Good with any of the following frostings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whipped cream frosting<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate frosting<\/li>\n<li>Buttercream frosting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/category\/desserts\/frosting\/\">Frosting Recipes<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>NOTES<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Filling in cake photo: Cream: 2 small white chocolate pudding with 2 c whole milk.
