smooth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>1\/3 c crisco<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>1\/3 c butter<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>, softened<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>1 tsp vanilla<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>3 Tbsp milk<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On low, slowly add:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>4 c confectioner sugar<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add confectioner sugar on low, one cup at a time, or it will fly out of the bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scrape sides of bowl down as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once incorporated, increase speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cream until light &amp; fluffy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Divide frosting into bowls, add <strong><em>food coloring<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If needed, add <strong style=\"font-style: italic;\">additional milk<\/strong>, a spoonful at a time, until frosting is desired consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How do you know when it&#8217;s enough milk? Take a small spoon and try spreading the frosting on a plate. When it spreads easily, it&#8217;s ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to apply a lot of pressure to the piping bag, it needs more milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the frosing isn&#8217;t holding it&#8217;s shape, it means it&#8217;s too wet. Add some confectioner sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To freeze cookies, let frosting dry several hours or overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Layer cookies in an airtight container, with wax paper between each
