{"id":2955,"date":"2023-06-06T14:25:10","date_gmt":"2023-06-06T14:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/?p=2955"},"modified":"2026-06-01T01:34:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T01:34:18","slug":"layered-dessert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/layered-dessert\/","title":{"rendered":"Layered Dessert"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the kitchen of Kay Putano<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1st Layer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>2 c flour<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>1 c butter, softened<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>1 c chopped pecans<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix together and press into the bottom of a 13 x 9 pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bake @ 350 for 25 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2nd Layer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>8 oz cream cheese, softened<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>1 c confectioner sugar<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>1 c Cool Whip<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;(from a 12 oz container. The remainder will be the 4th layer.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix together and spread over cooled first layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3rd Layer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>3 oz box chocolate pudding<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>3 oz box vanilla pudding<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>3 c milk<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spread over 2nd layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refrigerate until set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4th Layer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rest of&nbsp;<em><strong>Cool Whip<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5th Layer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Coconut and chopped pecans<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>OR Grated Hershey Candy Bars<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Store in refrigerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Variations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layer 1:&nbsp;<strong><em>1\/4 c butter, melted &amp; 30 crushed Nilla wafer cookies<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer 3: Replace chocolate pudding with&nbsp;<strong><em>banana pudding<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a layer of sliced<strong><em> bananas<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Omit 5th layer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pineapple<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layer 2: Add&nbsp;<em><strong>8 oz can crushed pineapple, drained<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer 3: Replace puddings with <em><strong>2 cheesecake puddin<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>gs<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Omit layer 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pistachio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layer 1:&nbsp;<em><strong>1\/4 c butter, melted &amp; 30 crushed Nilla wafer cookies<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer 3: Replace puddings with <strong><em>2 pistachio puddings<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Omit Layer 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lemon (Gram Mabes calls this Lemon Lush)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layer 3: Replace puddings with <strong><em>2 lemon puddings<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Omit Layer 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>Blueberry<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Layer 3: Mix together in a pot:<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>3 c blueberries<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>2 Tbsp lemon juice<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>1 1\/4 c sugar<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>1\/4 tsp salt<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>1\/4 c water<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>3 Tbsp cornstarch<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Cook until thickened.<\/li>\n<li>Cool.<\/li>\n<li>Spread on cream cheese layer.<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerate several hours before serving.<\/li>\n<li>Omit 4th &amp; 5th layers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Black Forest<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layer 1:&nbsp;<em><strong>1\/4 c butter, melted &amp; 18 crushed Oreos<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer 3:&nbsp;<strong><em>Cherry Pie Filling<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Omit layers 4 &amp; 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kay Putano<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2956,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[22,5],"tags":[494,512,57,110,644,671,97,159,194,106],"class_list":["post-2955","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cheesecake-creamy","category-desserts","tag-cool-whip","tag-cream","tag-dessert","tag-kay-putano","tag-layered","tag-lemon-lush","tag-mabel-knewasser","tag-nuts","tag-pudding","tag-recipe","latest_post"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 5.0.0.1 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"There are numerous variations of this recipe.
