{"id":3360,"date":"2023-06-16T03:02:47","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T03:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/?p=3360"},"modified":"2026-05-31T16:47:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T16:47:38","slug":"pasta-e-fasule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyrecipesandmore.com\/wordpress\/pasta-e-fasule\/","title":{"rendered":"Pasta e Fasule"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the kitchen of AnnMarie Barkwell<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soak OVERNIGHT:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>2 c beans- northern or navy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next day, boil beans for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boil again in fresh water for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a pan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>3-4 Tbsp olive oil<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>2-3 cloves garlic, crushed<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cook for about 1 minute, careful not to burn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add the cooked beans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>1\/2 c celery, chopped<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>2 small potatoes, diced<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>8 oz can tomato sauce (Hunts<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>1 1\/2 tsp salt<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>pepper to taste<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stir &amp; cook for about 5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>2 quarts + 1 c wate<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>r<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cook about 1 hour 15 minutes on low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, cook&nbsp;<em><strong>1 c Ditalini or Elbow macaroni<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When soup is done, add pasta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quick Method:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Put oil in pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">garlic, celery &amp;
