From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser

In a large bowl:

1/2 c breadcrumbs or crushed Club/ Ritz crackers

1 egg

3 Tbsp milk

Stir together until the crumbs are saturated. If too dry, add another tablespoon milk.

Add:

2- 2 1/2 lbs ground beef

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Mix together just until combined.

Form into hamburger patties.

Grill or pan fry.

Top with cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, sliced red onion, pickles, mayo, ketchup…

NOTES:

  • I pan fry on medium, covered, about 4 minutes per side.
  • Serve on a good quality roll. Currently, we like toasted ciabatta rolls.
  • Regarding the photo, that’s mozzarella oozing out between the burgers.
