Line a pie dish with pie crust. See recipes below.
In a large bowl, mix together:
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash of salt
6 c apples, thinly sliced
Spoon apple filling into pie crust.
Dot with butter.
Cover with pastry or crumb topping. See recipes below.
Bake @ 425, 40-50 minutes.
NOTES
- Sometimes I double the recipe and bake it in a 13×9 pan. – AnnMarie
- I add an egg wash to the inside crust before adding the fruit to prevent a soggy crust. – Steve
