Buttercream Frosting

From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser

Cream:

1 c crisco OR unsalted butter

Cream until light & fluffy.

Add:

4 c confectioner sugar

Cream until well blended.

Add:

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 c heavy whipping cream

Blend on low speed until moistened.

Add additional whipping cream if needed.

Beat at high speed until fluffy.

NOTES:

  • This frosting spreads & pipes beautifully, and it’s delicious.
  • If you don’t have heavy cream, whole milk can be used instead. Add 2 tsp of cornstarch & add milk gradually (you many not need all of it) until right consistency.
  • Crisco holds shape better than butter in warm weather.
