From the kitchen of Don Burcin

In a medium pan:

1/3 c butter

1/2 c sugar

2 Tbsp water

Cook, stirring, just until beginning to boil. Remove from heat.

Add:

1 c semisweet chocolate, broken into small pieces/ chocolate chips

Stir until the chocolate is melted.

Stir in:

2 eggs, beaten

1 tsp vanilla

Add:

3/4 c flour

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

Mix well.

Add:

1/2 c pecans, chopped

Pour batter into a greased or lined 8x8x2 baking pan.

Bake @ 350, 20 minutes or until edges are set & begin to pull away from the pan.

Use a fork to poke the surface of the warm brownies.

Drizzle 2 Tbsp bourbon over the brownies.

Let cool.

In a mixer bowl:

3 Tbsp butter

Beat on medium until creamy.

On low, slowly add:

1 1/2 c confectioner sugar

2 tsp milk (if too thick to spread, add a little more)

1/4 tsp vanilla

Spread over cooled brownies.

Optional:

drizzle with some melted chocolate
