Lekvar Bars

Dough:

Beat:

2 sticks butter

2 c confectioner sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

Add:

1 tsp baking powder

2 c flour

Add:

2 c ground walnuts

Reserve an orange sized portion of dough for lattice.

Cover & place in refrigerator.

Press remaining dough into a 16 x 12 raised cookie sheet.

Filling:

1 12 oz jar apple jelly

1 17 oz jar lekvar

Spread filling over dough.

The dough is very sticky & hard to work with.

To make lattice work, use 2 spoons to drop small mounds of reserved dough over filling.

Bake @ 350, 15-20 minutes.

Cool. Cut into bars.

Sprinkle with confectioner sugar before serving.
