From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser

In a large bowl:

1/2 c breadcrumbs or crushed Club/ Ritz crackers

1/2 c oatmeal

1 egg

1 Tbsp parsley

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Add:

3 lbs ground turkey

Mix just until combined. It will be soft.

Line a large tray with a silicone baking mat or parchment.

Form patties by flattening a spoonful (about 1/3 c) of mixture onto a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Make them thin. Pat sides to form a nice round burger.

Place tray of burgers in the freezer. When frozen, place burgers in a freezer bag.

When ready to cook, no need to thaw. They are easier to handle frozen.

Add a little oil to a pan.

Fry on medium, 4-5 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked.

Pile on your favorite toppings.

Makes 24 burgers

NOTES:

  • Thousand Island Burger: Thousand Island Dressing, shredded lettuce, sliced onion, a pickle and provolone atop a turkey burger on a toasted ciabatta roll/ english muffin.
